Here comes a good news for all the fundamentalist Game of Thrones lovers but it might be a heart break for HBO. A leading Hollywood channel HBO came under a major cyber-attack in which the script of the ruling season Game of Thrones was hacked. The loss is not only limited to the Game of Thrones but two unreleased episodes of Balers and Room 104 have also been leaked online as narrated by Entertainment Weekly reports. It is not the first time that Game of Thrones came under fire but in 2015 and 2016 the same disputes were witnessed in which some episodes were leaked beforehand. But the situation remained under control.
This leaves a question mark on the security system of the leading channel HBO, as the hackers claim to have stolen 1.5 terabytes of data. The hackers are further threatening to leak more from the stolen gold chest.
The news took the internet by storm when the email from an anonymous identity was sent to the reporters mentioning the breach:
—“Hi to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh, I forget to tell. It’s HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!!”—-
—“You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him.”—-
With the advancement of technology, many problems have been solved but various new issues have also risen. Cyber-crime is one of these issues for which still no solution has been devised. In past, a massive scandal of Sony hack 2014, was witnessed in which 100 terabytes of data was stolen. HBO remains safe in this regard as its loss is not even close to what Sony faced in 2014.
The news itself was later confirmed by the CEO of HBO Richard Plepler through an email:
—-“As most of you have probably heard by now, there has been a cyber-incident directed at the company which has resulted in some stolen proprietary information, including some of our programming”—-
He also understands the problem behind this cyber-attack and seems determined to bring out a solution:
—-“The problem before us is unfortunately all too familiar in the world we now find ourselves a part of. As has been the case with any challenge we have ever faced, I have absolutely no doubt that we will navigate our way through this successfully.”—-
The hackers have still not been identified but HBO seems vigilant in taking some smart steps to recover the loss. But after this havoc, we still have to wait to see whether any changes in the scripts and season 7 of Game of Thrones will be made or not.
